About the School:-It was on 16 Sept of 1963, that the foundation stone of the 12 सैनिक स्कूल in the chain of 33 सैनिक स्कूल sprawling across the length and breadth of the country was laid down. This fledgling nascent school was a sequel to the concerted endeavour of the legendary cultural ambassador and the then Union Defence Minister, Late V K Krishna Menon and the visionary Chief Minster from Bihar Late K B Sahay. The onus of translating vision from the drawing boards into reality fell on the scholar Principal Lt Col LEG Smith. Thus was born SST which later has been ensconced as a landmark on the academic scene of the state and nation as well. Today it is a top ranking nursery to the NDA.  Located near tilaiya dam in the district of Koderma, Sainik School Tilaiya is 18 Kms away from the nearest rail head – Koderma on the Howrah – Delhi chord line nearer to Gaya. The Chhotanagpur Plateau and Tilaiya Dam provide an ideal backdrop to Sainik School Tilaiya.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING IN APPLICATION FORMS

(1) Application for Entrance Examination for admission from class Il to V in every academic session starting in April every year is to be made on the enclosed form only which should be filled in correctly in block letters and
signed in ink personally by the parents/guardians. The application should be addressed to The Chaiman,Jai Hind Residential School, Sainik School Tilalya, P.O-Tilaiya Dam, Dist- Kodema (Jharkhand) Pin -825 413.
(2) Identification Certificate and Admit Card duly completed with photographs of the boy.
(3) Enclosed one self-addressed stamped envelop alongwith the application form for sending the admitcard by registered post
(4) Admit Cards will be dispatched to parents/guardians of eligible candidates in their own self addressed envelop.If any parent does not receive the Admit Card one week prior to the date of Examination, due to postal delay, theparents/guardians should contact the school personally with one passport size photograph of the boy and copy of prospectus issued by the school for issue of a duplicate copy of Admit Card.
(5) The school takes no responsibility for postal delay.
